Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Arcangel App, Inc. (“Arcangel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use arcangel.ai and the related applications and services (the “Services”). It is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

Arcangel App, Inc. is a Delaware corporation. Our address is 9 Auer Court, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. Privacy questions and requests go to company@arcangel.ai.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Name, email address, and sign-in details when you create an account or sign in with email or Google.

Filing content. Invention descriptions, drawings, marks, logos, specimens, drafts, and other materials you submit so we can prepare a filing or related work (“Your Content”), and the drafts and other output generated for you from that content (“Output”).

Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive limited payment details such as the fact of a purchase, the amount, and a payment reference. We do not store your full card number.

Usage and device data. Pages you visit, features you use, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, and similar data needed to operate, secure, and understand the Services.

Product analytics. If you allow it, Mixpanel receives events that a step happened, such as a search, a new draft, a Halo Credit purchase, or a submission. After you sign in it also receives your account id and the email on the account. It receives the length of a free-search query, not the words. It does not receive the text, drawings, or files you enter for a patent or trademark, and we do not record Mixpanel session replays.

Error reports. Sentry receives browser error and performance reports so we can fix failures. Those reports do not include the text of patent or trademark fields, session recordings, or a bug-report form. To tell us about a problem, use Help & support in the product.

Messages you send us. Support requests, partnership notes, and other messages you send to the team, including the email address you give us so we can reply.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to provide filings and related services, keep your account secure, process payments, send messages about your account, prevent abuse, and improve the Services.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Your Content or Output to train generative AI models, and we require our AI model providers not to use them for training.

We may use aggregated and de-identified usage data, which cannot reasonably identify you or disclose your inventions or marks, to operate, analyze, and improve the Services.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

• Independent attorneys or patent agents you choose to engage, so they can do the work you asked for.
• Government offices you instruct us to file with, such as the USPTO.
• Service providers that host the product, process payments (Stripe), send email, report errors (Sentry), or, if you allow it, measure product steps (Mixpanel). On the production website we also use Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Snitcher to measure visits and advertising. Those three tools are not loaded on our staging site. Providers process data for us under confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities when the law requires it, or when we need to protect the rights, safety, and security of Arcangel, our users, or others.

5. Confidentiality and public filings

We treat unfiled invention disclosures and draft applications as confidential. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it to deliver the Services and who are bound by confidentiality obligations. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you of a security incident affecting Your Content as required by law.

Once filed, many government filings become public. Patent applications generally publish 18 months after the earliest priority date, and trademark applications and copyright registrations are public records. Arcangel is not responsible for information a government office makes public.

Using the Services does not create an attorney-client relationship with Arcangel. Communications with Arcangel are not protected by attorney-client privilege. A privilege relationship, if any, is only with an independent attorney you engage, under that attorney’s terms.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and to remember settings such as theme. Your product-analytics choice is stored in the browser. If you allow Mixpanel, it stores its own identifier there. Mixpanel does not record your screen, and it does not receive what you type into patent or trademark fields.

Sentry loads with the app to report errors. It does not record sessions. The product does not show a Report a Bug button. Use Help & support to contact us.

On the production website we also use Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Snitcher. Those tools are not loaded on our staging site. You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking them may affect sign-in or other parts of the Services.

7. How long we keep it

You may download Your Content and Output while your account is active. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify Your Content within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain backups that are overwritten in the ordinary course.

8. Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal and operational limits. Email company@arcangel.ai from the address on your account. You can also close your account from the product.

You can turn Mixpanel on or off under Settings, then Privacy, after you sign in. The first visit asks as well. Not now leaves Mixpanel off.

The Services are for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice by email or in the product.
