Who files with the USPTO?
On attorney review, a licensed attorney reviews the application and files it with the USPTO. On self-filing, Arcangel prepares the application and you submit it yourself.
We do not replace professional judgment where the law requires it. Attorney review is the path that includes that review.
Do you provide legal advice?
We provide filing support, structured drafting support, and automation. Licensed attorneys or agents provide legal services where required. Your engagement terms define who does what, ask if you are unsure.
Do you handle filings outside the United States?
Yes. We can currently file for protection in 158 countries. On the patent Filing Plan step, you can choose to file through the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty), which offers about 2.5 years of international protection before national phase entry. See our PCT filing guide for the full explanation.
